At Buttercups Training, we are expanding our Safeguarding and Welfare Team.

You will act as the main point of contact for any safeguarding and welfare referrals internally and externally and investigate through to completion utilising multi agency links where appropriate. You will liaise with our learner’s/training supervisors and internal staff to manage any safeguarding concerns, investigate and act as appropriate and ensure that all parties are kept up to date where applicable.

What’s involved in this position?

As a Welfare Officer, you will hold industry standard safeguarding qualifications and have experience within a role of utilising your qualification/s working with young people, adults and adults with additional needs. You will be primarily responsible for the welfare of Buttercups learners and this could involve investigating any raised safeguarding and welfare concerns from any referral. This may include intra agency liaison, reporting within the agreed channels internally, and learner advocating.

In addition, you will also be jointly responsible for delivering internal training and standardisation events for all relevant staff members on a monthly basis.

Applicants must have excellent overall IT skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and, in particular, Microsoft Excel. A high level of accuracy, keen attention to detail and the ability to spot errors will be key attributes in the successful applicant. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will also be essential to the role. You will be required to demonstrate an empathetic but firm telephone manner to ensure that learner’s feel comfortable sharing any concerns with you.

You will be required to attend annual training to ensure that your knowledge and qualifications are in line with industry standards.

Knowledge of the Pharmacy, Education and Training Sector is not required as full training will be provided as part of the induction process but applicants are advised that a positive, can-do attitude is an essential part of organisational culture at Buttercups Training.
