Halls The Chemist
Halls The Chemist is a family run pharmacy group established in 1966. All six of our pharmacies are in the heart of their community and our two company directors are both experienced, practicing Pharmacists. We have a passion for training pharmacists fit for the future.
We are looking for pre-registration students who genuinely love patients, motivated by healthcare, are great at problem solving, energised through working within a team, have a real passion for the profession and can fulfill their own self-development. You will also have a real flair for caring for people and be organised in how you go about your work. We will support you to maintain the company’s last 2 year’s results of 100% pre-registration exam pass rate at first attempt, through a thorough induction where you can learn about the way we operate at Halls The Chemist, with real hands on experience.
We have vacancies in our pharmacies, which are situated in Peterborough (where we are one of the largest independent groups) and Kings Lynn, all our pharmacies and team present professionally as is the basis on which we provide our services.
Often, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, so you can be sure your role will be varied from displaying pharmacy products to dealing with queries from GP’s surgeries.
As a pre-registration student you will cover all pre-registration GPhC standards and competencies, with an emphasis on management skills, communication and assertiveness together with teaching you the vital clinical skills you will need to talk to and advise our patients. All aspects of community pharmacy will be experienced during your time with us, such as, dispensing NHS, private and veterinary prescriptions, controlled drug dispensing, EPS2, blister pack dispensing etc. through work in branches other than your base branch.
We participate in all national and local essential, advanced and enhanced NHS services e.g. palliative care, supervised consumption, MUR's, NMS, NHS flu vaccinations and many more! To ensure we can deliver all these services, all our pharmacies benefit from accredited consultation rooms, with PMR access. We are active participants in the NHS Quality Scheme and have achieved the maximum number of points for 2017/18, with all
our branches accredited as Healthy Living Pharmacies.
Being a true community pharmacy, we are involved with local communities and charities.
You will have the support of an experienced and dedicated tutor and also the rest of the pharmacy team, as well as benefiting from the Buttercup's off site training program, which includes several off site training days, webinars and protected study time within your working week. Comment from a recent pre-reg student: "As a pre-reg at Halls the Chemist, I have been given a lot of opportunities to have hands-on experience in tackling challenges, with the knowledge I gained from university and in Halls the Chemist, as well as the support of the pharmacy team. I appreciate very much for the training, the support and experience I gained in Halls the Chemist, as they have allowed me to expand my professional development tremendously."
We can offer support and advice around your accommodation needs. Tier 2 students welcome to apply.
