New Level 2 Support Staff Training Courses!

We are delighted to announce the launch of Buttercups Training’s latest level 2 support staff training courses. From 1st November, all of our support staff courses will be accredited to the latest GPhC requirements for the education and training of pharmacy support staff.

We have developed seven new course versions for level 2 support staff training. Six of the latest courses are based on existing, recognised defined roles and the seventh is the Pharmacy Support Worker Course. The brand-new Pharmacy Support Worker Course has been designed to be flexible to meet the needs of learners working in a variety of roles, across different areas of pharmacy practice. The Pharmacy Support Worker Course replaces the Assembly Hub Course, making available technical module most suitable for the specific hub. You could think of this as a ‘pick and mix’ course, where modules can be chosen to create courses for specialised and evolving roles.

Which course will suit their role?

New Course Structure

Each course now has two core modules to be studied by all learners followed by technical modules that are relevant to the specific role they perform. The two core modules are:

  • Core Module 1 – Working in a Pharmacy Environment
  • Core Module 2 – Teamwork and Person-Centred Care

The core modules contain teaching that applies to all pharmacy settings, enabling all support staff working within the pharmacy profession to develop the skills required to provide safe and effective care.

Technical modules can be thought of as ‘role-specific’. They allow the design of courses that are specific to a learner’s role. Technical modules include: Skills for Assembling Prescriptions, Handling Prescriptions, Manufacturing Medicinal Products, The Aseptic Manufacturing Process, and Handling Stock.
